If water is not able to properly flow away from your house, then damage can result in a number of different locations, from your roofing to your foundation. Water pools inside the gutter and it will flood over at the bottom of the roof. It can leave the roof shingles damaged and also cause cracks in the roof. A cracked roof creates a leak in the ceiling and the interior of the house. Repairing a rotten roof floor or damaged roof is costly. A clean gutter allows a smooth passage of water flowing from the bottom, controlling the flow of the water off the roof and directing it through a channel and away from the foundation and other parts of a property.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Keep Out Pests<\/strong><br \/>\nInsects, birds, and rodents can make their homes in a gutter clogged with leaves and debris. They can also find their way into your home through the gutter system. A clogged gutter is a common cause of pest infestation in your home. Proper cleaning will reduce the risk of infestation in your gutter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Damage to Fascia<\/strong><br \/>\nThe fascia is that board that runs right behind your gutter. Overflowing water can damage this important component of your gutter system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Overwatering Garden Beds<\/strong><br \/>\nIf your gutters become clogged to the point that water is spilling over the side and into your garden beds, you can damage your plants\u2019 health by essentially drowning them. Overwatering can be as harmful as not watering enough.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Cracks in Foundation<\/strong><br \/>\nIf water overflows and pools along your home\u2019s foundation, it can end up freezing, which can cause it to expand and generate cracks in your foundation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Damage to Brackets<\/strong><br \/>\nClogged gutters are holding too much weight, which can result in damage to the brackets.
